At Compass House, we are fortunate to have community partners who go above and beyond to support the youth we serve. Recently, a dedicated group of volunteers from CannonDesign spent their Community Day making a meaningful impact at our Emergency Shelter.

The volunteer team took on the important task of repainting two girls' bedrooms, transforming the spaces with fresh paint and renewed energy. Their hard work helped create brighter, more welcoming rooms that will provide comfort and a sense of home for the young people who rely on our shelter during challenging times.

The generosity of the CannonDesign team extended well beyond their painting project. Volunteers also treated both clients and staff to breakfast and lunch, creating an atmosphere of warmth, connection, and community throughout the day. Sharing meals together is a simple but powerful way to show care, and the team’s thoughtfulness was deeply appreciated by everyone at the shelter.

Projects like these help ensure that Compass House remains a safe, supportive, and welcoming environment for youth experiencing homelessness and housing instability. A freshly painted room can make a significant difference in how a young person feels about their surroundings, helping foster comfort, dignity, and a sense of belonging.

We are incredibly grateful to CannonDesign for choosing Compass House as part of their Community Day and for investing their time, talent, and resources into our mission. Their enthusiasm, compassion, and commitment to giving back made a lasting impact on both our shelter and the young people who call it home.

On behalf of our clients, staff, and the entire Compass House community, thank you, CannonDesign, for helping create brighter spaces and brighter days for the youth we serve.
