Spotlight on Jacobs School of Medicine Interns: Bright Young Minds Supporting Compass House

Writer's picture: Adam NoonanAdam Noonan

We are thrilled to welcome a group of exceptional medical students from the Jacobs School of Medicine, who have been visiting Compass House every other Wednesday as part of UB’s Community Connect Program. Over the next 18 months, these dedicated and compassionate individuals will have the unique opportunity to gain firsthand experience with our services, connect with our clients, and support our team in many capacities.

These students bring a fresh perspective and boundless energy to our agency. During their time with us, they will learn more about the challenges faced by youth experiencing homelessness and gain an understanding of how supportive services make a profound impact. Their involvement spans everything from connecting directly with clients to assisting with day-to-day tasks that keep our organization running smoothly. They are dedicated not only to learning but to making a positive difference.

The Community Connect Program is an incredible bridge between UB’s Jacobs School of Medicine and agencies like Compass House. This partnership enables future healthcare providers to experience the critical role of community support systems and deepens their understanding of the needs and resilience of vulnerable youth.

We’re inspired by the compassion, curiosity, and drive these young professionals bring to Compass House. We look forward to witnessing their growth and celebrating the impact they’re already making in the lives of our clients and staff.
