We are thrilled to share the tremendous impact of the United Way Day of Caring at Compass House! This remarkable event, organized by United Way, brought together nearly 2,000 volunteers who dedicated their time and energy to support 75 frontline nonprofits across Erie County. The value of their efforts is estimated at over $250,000, a testament to the power of community and collective action.

Transforming Our Emergency Shelter

A special shout-out goes to the incredible teams from Jencap Buffalo and Eastman Machine Company. Despite the heat and rain, these dedicated volunteers transformed the exterior of our Emergency Shelter, creating a more welcoming and safe environment for our youth. They also tackled the challenging task of cleaning up our third floor and sorting through new donations during the first hour of rain

. Their hard work and persistence have given our youth the environment they deserve.

United Way: Inspiring Change

The United Way Day of Caring showcases how companies around Buffalo are stepping up to support nonprofits that focus on health, education, stability, and the most vulnerable members of our community. Volunteers were engaged in a variety of tasks, including painting, sorting, cleaning, gardening, and providing professional insights. This event truly embodies the spirit of giving back and inspires people to be the change they want to see in the world.

A Heartfelt Thank You

We extend our deepest gratitude to United Way for organizing such an amazing event that made a significant difference at Compass House. We are honored to have been included in this day of service and are incredibly thankful for the efforts of Jencap Buffalo and Eastman Machine Company. Meeting such dedicated and compassionate volunteers was a highlight for us, and we look forward to continuing our partnership with these wonderful organizations in the future.

Together, we are building a stronger, more supportive community. Thank you to everyone who participated and made the United Way Day of Caring a resounding success!
